The Wartime Company is a subsidiary of Barrington Ward Associates Ltd,
a company specialising in the provision of marketing services to the
Leisure Industry.
The two principal Directors of
the company are Marilyn Ward
and Barry Wilbraham.
Marilyn spent many years working for the Institute of Chemistry then
later joined Dorset County Council as Co-ordinator for the European
Market. She was later appointed to the role of Co-ordinator for the
50th Anniversary of D-Day in 1994. Barry Wilbraham spent several years
in publishing and was a Director of Carlton Communications publishing
division. He later joined Dorset County Council in 1986 to become
County Tourism Officer.
The Wartime Company was born in 1995 and
one of its more familiar activities is the production of its quarterly
publication, Wartime News.
However, with over fifteen years' experience in dealing with all
aspects of the Second World War, few companies can boast the knowledge
base accumulated, which is a hallmark of its success. This specialist
WWII marketing advice has been extended to contracts with local
government, WWII museums, associations, film-makers and television
production companies.
The degree of expertise provided
encompasses
the media and direct marketing activities by providing clients with an
in-depth understanding of the marketplace to include; educational
tours, mailing programmes, familiarisation trips to museums and advice
on event management. This has been afforded to the majority of
the WWII and WW1 museums in northern France and Belgium.
The Wartime Company also provides
publishing
and membership services to other organisations involved in technology
along with the Defence Electronics History Society which is linked to
the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham.
